Feature Friday: Carrying the Load
Hello there everyone~! I hope you all are doing well these days. Recently, Antigone and I got back from Kami-Con 2013, and while it was a profitable venture for us both, it was easily one of the most trying experiences of our career. I won’t go into too much detail, (considering I have lingered on this topic for far too long now) But for those of you who didn’t know, feel free to read my full experience of the convention that I wrote a few days ago.
Thankfully, Antigone and I have been graced with some truly amazing friends and supporters. After writing this, I think our inboxes got flooded with letters of concern, sympathy, and love. The love and support that we received meant the world to us, but even so, pain still lingers and the healing process is an ongoing thing.
I felt like because of all this, now would be a good time to put into motion an idea I’ve had for a long time now. “Feature Friday” a day where I feature something that truly inspires me to create and/or better myself in some particular way, and share it with everyone. Continue reading
Cyber Dragon WIP Sketch

Here is my finished in progress sketch of for an OriCa card of Cyber Dragon. Part of a huge commission set for an amazing client of ours. ^^ He has given us a ton of freedom, and naturally I wanted to use this opportunity to get as creative as I could. If you notice, I took a lot of inspiration from Zero. =) I have no shame in that though… Megaman was my childhood…

It’s that time of the year again. Yep. you Guessed it! The Yule~! Heh, you guys probably have no clue what the Yule is. Well, in essence, it’s a pagan holiday, and what many Christmas traditions have been based off of. It’s the time of the year when the darkness has fully settled in, and from here on out, the light will begin to slowly return to the world. For us witches, its a time of togetherness, recollection, and appreciation of what we have. Also, fun fact, the yule takes place this year on the very same prophesied end of the Mayan Calendar. Also, another fun fact, as the earth revolves around the sun, the axis of the earth itself slowly rotates. A full rotation takes about 26,000 years. The circle of rotation is divided into a bunch of different sections, kinda like a pie, and each section marks an era of the earth. The Age of the Pisces is what you have all experienced during your lifetime’s thus far. Well, the earth will enter the next era, the age of the Aquarius on the day of the Yule/The end of the Mayan Calendar. The 21st. Heavy stuff huh? No matter what way you look at it, it marks a special occasion for the Earth.
Anyways, With all of that being said~! Were having a Sale~! Celebrating all of these wonderful new landmarks and changes. It’s a wonderful time to be alive right now, so we should all be happy and celebrate it!

Fall Nessa Progress

Gawd… This one has been killing me. I’ve been putting pretty much all I’ve got into this. Reason being…
Antigone and I are Rebranding and Revamping Faerie’s Dice. It was a fun year, but it’s time for a much needed change, and with that change, we need Nessa to change along with Faerie’s Dice. Thus… explains the new Fall look that she is sporting now.
I’ll go into more detail later as to what this new rebranding means for Faerie’s Dice, and it’s loyal supporters~ Only good things can happen from here on out. But for now, As for this drawing… Every single part of it has been a long rocky road… After I had fully rendered the skin, I had to completely erase the face area, and do major edits to the face and hair. Luckily, all went well, and Nessa herself is basically finished.
With any luck, tomorrow I will cram all day and get a background going. And when that’s finished, I’ll post the final version tomorrow.

Runa
Another collaboration between Antigone and myself. ^^ She did the original sketch, and I did everything else. This collab is a commission that is going to be turned into a double wide deck box.. but this one will be different. it’s actually going to be a clear partially see-through deck box, made from plastic. Our commissioner paid us a little extra so that we could make this happen for him. =o Honestly~ I think I might make one for myself! I really like this image.
I decided to name her Runa~ I’ve decided that she is Dark magician Girl’s daughter. XP I kinda took her name from DMG’s Since DMG’s name is Mana, Runa seemed like an appropriate name. Isn’t she cute? She got all of the cute sqishy sexyiness that her mother had.~ <3 XP

What started off as a commission for me to edit my first ever piece of Dark Magician fanart, the very first piece that I ever did for Faerie’s Dice,
Turned into a completely new drawing! I haven’t been this happy and this excited to do artwork as I have doing this piece! I completely got obsessed with it, and really forgot for a moment that for me, this is my job, this is my work.
When I first completed the Original DMG, I was so down on myself. I knew that I didn’t do my best work, and even felt a little embarrassed and self conscience about my work. But now, I feel great, and feel that I made more than just a few improvements to her original design! I’ve learned so much since I first started Faerie’s Dice with Antigone. And I can’t wait to see where I end up after another year~!
There is a nude version, and a clothed version, as you can see. Both will be printed into gamemats and Orica cards, as well as posters, and even prints~! Oh… And deck sleeves and deck boxes too~! XP So much stuff! I’m just deciding which version of her I want for my brand new game mat! Clothed… Or unclothed? Hmmm… I’m leaning towards… Unclothed~! Hell yes~!

So! recently someone commissioned me to do a revision of my favorite image that I have drawn so far,
And edit her so that she was completely nude. Needless to say, I was STOKED. This image is by far, one of my top favorites. I love my BLS girl. XP The figure I gave her was so full and “Sensual” so naturally I enjoyed turning her into a fully nude figure. It was actually quite a process. There were so MANY anatomy mistakes, like horrendous ones. I had to pretty much repaint her, and I made sure to add extra details where I could. I re-positioned her pose a bit, and once again, made tons of corrections to her anatomy. I do hope it looks okay, and reads well to you all. I really think that this is an improvement over the original. (Though the original had some flair to it that still makes it comparable to some degree)
Oh yes, and this piece will be in our Faerie’s Dice art book “Year and a Day”. The book will be a collection of 20 of our best pieces of artwork during the beginnings of Faerie’s Dice, as well as personal writings from both antigone and myself, and even an art tutorial that details our creative process.
