Been working like an Egyptian slave lately! Got a few new progress sketches ready to show off here. The first is of a commissioner’s Original character, Betty. From what I know, she is a character in his original comic series that he is working on creating, other than that, she has ice powers! My commissioner seemed like he wanted us to have a lot of creative freedom with this one, so I got carried away playing around with her outfit to better show off that “Faerie’s Dice Flair”… o-o;; But seriously, I hope you don’t mind, and I hope you like the results! I promise the colors of her original outfit will be present within this new design. Also, her jacket sleeve is rolled up on her right arm, and her arm is frozen. Those are ice crystals.

And as for the second image… It’s a WIP of a contest entry that Antigone and I have been collaborating on. The contest entry is to design an Anime styled Magical fighting girl for a Japanese Trading card game. The winner gets cash, their card in the game, the card, as well as some future opportunities. We felt that this contest is seriously within our best interest, and is the change that Faerie’s Dice has been searching for. Win or Loose, this image is going to have our all, and I mean our ALL put into it! Like I said, we are playing to fucking win, but also to remind ourselves of what art truly means for us. The image itself is representative of a person that is very special to me, as well as a place that seems like a distant memory.

In honor of the new release of some really cute Harpie Cards, I decided to have some fun and do an edit of my old Harpie queen, and Just like all of my revisions go, they usually involve almost completely altering the entire thing. XD Nonetheless, this piece was a fun, therapeutic, guilty pleasure for me. Honestly, I really needed this. Faerie’s Dice hasn’t been doing well lately, the last three cons have been flops, and frankly, people have just been mean! But doing this piece reminded me of why I create. Because I love it. Not because I need to survive, but because I love to create. My life is a medium for the message that I wish to send, not the other way around.

I hope you enjoy her! I think she turned out really cute! She kinda has that “Can you please get off me?” look on her face~ <3 But on a more serious note Harpies are a special creature for me. The idea of mixing a feminine creature with such feral traits, really helps bring vigor, power, and dominance to an ideal, female energy, that is normally viewed as passive and submissive by many at first glance.

Goddess of Beast

My long awaited progress sketch of the third and final form of the Mother Goddess, The goddess of beast. The battle faerie was a ginger, the mermaid was Asian, and this image will be more of an African ethnicity.

I’m not sure if it reads properly in the sketch or not, but she is meant to have “Patches” of fur, mixed in with her dark skin. The fur is on the distal parts of her legs and arms, and instead of abruptly stopping, the fur gradually thins out around the elbow and knee areas. There is a patch of fur also where her tail sprouts from. (top of her behind!) . As far as her fur color goes, I’m thinking a cheddar cheese color. Maybe with black spots? I’ll decide!

As for her hair, CURLY! I wanted something wild and untamed… naturally, curls speak that for me. It’s the shape that many people’s hair tends to take on, yet, these days, I see many males and ESPECIALLY FEMALES, straighten their hair as if they are ashamed of the curls… Well, This goddess is proud of her wild locks~!

This will easily prove to be the most challenging of the three forms. I have really gone out on a limb and taken a lot of risk, experimenting in things that I don’t normally do. Either way, my commissioner deserves it. He has been beyond patient with this piece… And I’m going to make sure that I’m going to reward him for his patients and amazing attitude!

Welp~! Here she is. Been workin on her for about a week now. A LOT longer than I had originally planned on spending with this blondie. But hey, I think she turned out all right. There is an obvious, NOT SO HIDDEN sub-reference goin on in this image. 10 points for whoever can identify said reference! Oh… and for those of you who don’t know, this is an OriCa card artwork that someone commissioned me to draw for them of Cyber dragon (No that’s not the sub-reference). If you like it, you too can get a commission from us~  All three versions of her are present within this post. The clothed version, the topless version (for my personal and your personal enjoyment too~) as well as the full sprite set of her. I posted the sprites because, as you can see, a lot had to be cut off for that final illustration! I simply couldn’t let 1/3 of my hard work go to complete waste… maybe someday I will animate her in Live 2D… I dunno! We’ll see!

One final note: Sorry for the inactivity guys. Just been workin hard. For those of you who have been kind enough to commission us. We thank you deeply for your patients, and will strive to get your work done as quickly as possible!

A quick rundown of the changes~

Website, twitter, Tumblr and Deviantart ascetic changes.

Were focusing more on Dreamhack, and wanna get into the game industry.

Added a store tab to deviantart that will be updated constantly with our new stuff.

As far as this piece of art goes, it just about freakin killed me. The level of detail that I put into it was freakin stupid. Though, I think she came together nicely, and in the end, I’m happy I spent so much time on her. I really enjoyed sketched out her eccentric body~! Super thin waistline, goddess wide child rearing hips~ Almost aquatic like hair~ ^^ Ah yeah…

Fall Nessa Progress

Gawd… This one has been killing me. I’ve been putting pretty much all I’ve got into this. Reason being…

Antigone and I are Rebranding and Revamping Faerie’s Dice. It was a fun year, but it’s time for a much needed change, and with that change, we need Nessa to change along with Faerie’s Dice. Thus… explains the new Fall look that she is sporting now.

I’ll go into more detail later as to what this new rebranding means for Faerie’s Dice, and it’s loyal supporters~ Only good things can happen from here on out. But for now, As for this drawing… Every single part of it has been a long rocky road… After I had fully rendered the skin, I had to completely erase the face area, and do major edits to the face and hair. Luckily, all went well, and Nessa herself is basically finished.

With any luck, tomorrow I will cram all day and get a background going. And when that’s finished, I’ll post the final version tomorrow.

the rebirth of Faerie’s Dice is imminent. Look forward to it everyone~

against my skin like chilly thin blades

blood dances and elementals sing

I spin and I dance with my whimsical friends

I loose my feet and forget where is down

Hands and fingers feel up my body

oh how tricky! but how could I stop?

Why would I care? Why would I give in to despair?

Take me my friends, caress my curves,

Soothe me with your slient words

pleasure me like no man can

take me away from this foreign land

I give myself, to your invisible embrace

I know you’re there, I don’t need space

For you’re what I breathe,

my new ground beneath me.

My feet are now above the earth,

My spirit so far beyond time and space

Running wild, life’s just a game!

One step closer to the edge
